Children's Program Registration 2016-2017
This registration is for children ages 0 to 6th grade. Registrations are crucial for staff so that they can most effectively lead and keep your child safe.
Please list below any allergies your child has that would require potential medical treatment. If medication might be needed during a church program, please provide details.
Nursery: Supervised activities and free play are available from 9:00 – 11:30 in the nursery in Rooms 28 and 29 for children ages 0-3. The Nursery Lead Teacher is Mirza Campos.
Children's Chapel: Children ages three (by September 1) through 4th grade are invited to Children's Chapel during worship, immediately following the Time with Children portion of the worship service. Children's Chapel provides an opportunity for children to experience worship in age-appropriate groups. Children participate in songs, prayer, and worship rituals and traditions. Children age three through Kindergarten meet in Room 37 and 1st-4th grades meet in room 33 on the third floor.
Sunday School: Children ages three (by September 1) through 6th grade are invited to Sunday School from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. each week. Volunteer teachers guide children in exploring the Bible and our relationship with God through interactive stories, music, videos, prayer, art, games, play and community building.

Connect56: A new program for students in grades 5 & 6. This program is designed to help students start to connect to the church community as older elementary students and Middle School Students who are getting ready to find their own place at First Church. Connect56 will meet during our worship hour after the Children’s Time and features a unique way of connecting each week including; serving in leadership with younger children, attending a class that focuses on our ancestors in faith, observing things in worship and more.
Cherub Choir: Wednesdays 5:00-5:50pm (K-1st) rehearsals in Room 34 (3rd Floor). The Cherub Choir focuses on foundational music skills that will prepare younger children for the Children’s Choir. This choir joins the Children’s Choir on several Sundays throughout the year including the Christmas Pageant.
Children’s Choir: Wednesdays 5:00-5:50pm (2nd- 6th) rehearsals in the Choir Room (3rd Floor). The Children’s Choir sings in worship once each month. This choir expands on basic skills - helping children develop their voice and musicianship. In addition to singing in worship each month, this Choir provides musical leadership for the Christmas Pageant and on Mother’s Day.
First Steps to Faith: For families with children under age 3. Class meets the first Sunday of each month beginning in October and going through May. Meeting time is at 9:30 a.m. in Room 29.
Club 123: A fellowship and service group for 1st-3rd graders. This group meets the second Sunday of each month from 4:30-6:00 p.m. October through April. Dinner is included.
J.U.M.P. These letters stand for Junior United Methodist People. Students in 4th-6th grades are invited to be a part of this fellowship and service group which meets once a month on the second Friday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. October through May.
All-Church Potluck: Bring a side dish to share the third Wednesday of each month, September through May. Main course and drinks provided. Dine in the Dining Room 6:00-7:00 p.m. then enjoy free play in the Great Hall.
Bible Sunday: Third graders receive a name embossed bible during worship on Sunday, October 9th.
Advent Festival: Gather in the Dining Room following worship on Sunday, December 4th for lunch, advent wreath making and lots of fellowship fun.
Annual Christmas Pageant: The Pageant will be presented Sunday, December 11, 2016 during the worship hour. Preparation for the pageant will take place during Sunday school classes and Children's Chapel beginning in November. Children age three through 6th grade are invited to participate.

How Can I Support Children's Ministry?
I/We understand our Children's Ministry Program operates on a cooperative model with each family volunteering service to our program. Parents may choose to teach or assist in Sunday School, Children's Chapel or Nursery. Don't worry, it's a lot easier than you think!
